Oyster Perpetual and Rolex Submariner

In 1931 Rolex built the first automatic watch in the waterproof Oyster Perpetual wristwatch. Other milestones in the company’s history are the ‘Submariner’ of 1953, the Seadweller model inspired by it, the first wristwatch with a helium release valve for deep sea divers and the Oyster Perpetual Day Date.

Cosmograph Daytona

The Cosmograph Daytona chronograph, which became widely known after actor Paul Newman wore one in a movie, came onto the market in 1963.
The name ‘Daytona’ refers to the American town in Florida where several speed records have been broken since 1903. The Cosmograph Daytona thus emphasises the historic and solid connection with car racing and speed.

Yacht-Master

Another well-known and now classic model is the Yacht-Master, of which a new version came onto the market in the spring of 2007 under the name of Yacht-Master II and has the new, handmade calibre, the Rolex 4160.
